Yes actually. I've come to the conclusion that even if my parents were not my parents, I would still like them as people and friends. When I go home to see them, I really enjoy nothing better than to go to the local hangout with them and have long drawn out discussions with them over a cup of coffee.

But if my friends were really my friends, and my significant other was really my significant other, they wouldn't make me choose because they know as soon as they do, they've lost.

No. We make our own paths and in my experience, anyone who seriously believes in fate and that everything is preordained is just looking for an easy cop-out.
